New Publications – Foothills Growth and Yield Association

The Foothills Growth and Yield Association (FGYA) is a research cooperative administered by the Foothills Research Institute (FRI) on behalf of nine industrial sponsoring members. The mission of the FGYA is to continually improve the assessment of lodgepole pine growth and yield in managed stands, including responses to silvicultural treatments. This information is vital to the members and to the province in the provision of reliable science-based yield forecasting in forest management.

Two technical notes (Effects of Climate on Mortality of Immature Planted and Naturally Regenerated Lodgepole Pine Monitoring and Decision Support for Forest Management in an MPB Environment – Project Overview and Update) as well as a report on the performance of Lodgepole Pine regeneration project have just been posted to our website.
